The Story of an Artist
Kevin Bishop is a European expressionist painter, who moved only recently to Austin. Living in close proximity to Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock’s studio on Accabonac Harbor in NY for ten years, Kevin was inspired by their freedom of expression, the ever changing light, and intimate daily interaction with nature.
Working primarily on floors and tables, Kevin explores forms of expression that stir his mind, heart, and soul—minutely poured lines, lissajous figures, drip painting, and painterly strokes all feature strongly in his work. “My studio is my soul cave; the place that inspires me to create beautiful pieces which lift the spirit.”
Since moving to Austin in 2024, he has continued that passion, both at home in the Onion Creek watershed and in the many beautiful parks with which we are blessed. In NY Kevin was represented by The White Room Gallery, and his work has been shown at art fairs in the Hamptons, NY, Miami and Bangkok. With Springs-Studio now firmly established in Austin, the colors of Texas bring new vibrancy to Kevin’s work.
